p231 Wembley

Yea

On Saturday we went to Wembley with our football team to watch England u21s beat Portugal u21s 1-0.
Wembley is very funky
I noticed that there are loads of gates to go in (A, B, C...) and they miss out random letters!! Why?!!

I missed the only goal because I was fetching a hot dog and when people heard the cheers they all ran out to have a look!!

p229 Finger Diary

I should've started earlier, but this is my finger diary:

  • Saturday 10th October - Football training in the morning, getting ready for an important game on Sunday. I caught a ball funny, took my glove off because my finger was hurting and sat down for a bit. It started to grow and I couldn't bend it, so our manager gave me some cold spray, and told me to stay off for a bit. I decided to play for a bit, but it still hurt so I played one-handed. I then gave up completely because playing with one hand in goal is useless, and got given a funky cold patch. The impact on my 'fingersave' gloves crushed the little plastic bits and my finger. I went home for dinner, then to A+E. Our football guy's wife was the triage nurse that got me through quickly to the x-ray bit. This is what the x-ray looked like:

(It's the other hand and it's on the outside, but you get the idea. I've just found out it's no-where near that big!!!)

They strapped it up, and gave me a sling. Ithought that was a bit much, but oh well. I was told to wear it for a week until I go back for the fracture clinic thing. Later we went bowling (which was planned before this happened) so I played with one arm all off balance. I STILL BEAT ADAM!!
  • Sunday - I watched the football match I should've played in, and we lost 2-0. (I wont blame it on the goalie). That was the most exciting thing we did all day, apart from just before the match when I went to the toilet. It's not easy to undo a belt with one hand when you have a turtle-head popping out.
  • Monday - Ooh, exciting. Back to school with my broken finger. People kept asking me what I had done to my arm, and I told them it was just my finger. I soon discovered that eating, opening/closing my bag and wearing a blazer over a sling were all difficult. I have now worked out ways to do all these things :)
  • Tuesday - Nothing exciting - except I couldn't play piano in music. I also can't do my graded piece on the guitar because its impossible to move my fingers on that hand. I also discoverwed that it is really hard to write, because the paper slides away from you...
  • Wednesday - Nothing exciting again - school was funny though because someone put a dead rat in another boy's pocket... When he realised he shat himself.
  • Thursday - Still nothing fun happening...
  • Friday - I would've written 'nothing exciting' again, but something exciting did happen! I went swimming with Adam and a couple of people from our class. My finger strap thing fell off but I carried on (It hurt loads for a few minutes, but then it got better). The hospital said swimming is the only sport I can do so why not do it? I have noticed the swelling in my finger has gone down loads, and instead of black is has gone through purple and now yellow. Tasty.
  • Saturday - Bowling again (it's not normal for us to bowl every Saturday, but we have). I beat Adam again, and I am getting quite good with my one arm!!
  • Sunday - I have now mastered Tears In Heaven with just my thumb, ring fingr and little finger. I might put a video on youtube because I think it is skillage...
  • Monday - Hospital (dis)appointment. It was a VERY long wait, and they simply told me to wear a funky fluffy thing for 3 weeks from now.
(Now I will only write when something odd happens)

p228 Cricket

I got emailed this by some random spam guy, but it's funny so I will share it:

The definition of Cricket as explained to an American:

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.

Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.

When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.

When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.

p227 Wedding

Simon and Dizzy got married. Aaaah.
I was an Usher - but I didn't really do much. I met some of Simon's family and tried to talk to Abuela - I said "Vamos a España con la escuela el próximo año" or something like that.

@Adam - my bed was at a funny angle, my feet were above my head
